Patrick Murray leads KinderCare Education’s advocacy efforts, working to ensure government policies and programs benefit all children, regardless of background or economic status. Patrick joined KinderCare from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation where he led the development and implementation of the foundation’s federal advocacy strategies for education and health. Previously, he served as a policy advisor to U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander, Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. During his time on the Hill he led the negotiations on the Child Care and Development Block Grant Act of 2014 and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014. Early in his career, Patrick worked as a middle school science teacher.
