The Sunshine House
The Sunshine House was formed in Greenwood, SC, by a husband-and-wife team of public school teachers. The couple wasn’t satisfied with the local care options available for their young daughter, so they started The Sunshine House. One of our first schools, on Grace Street in Greenwood, SC, is still in operation today! More than 40 years later, The Sunshine House has grown into one of the largest early education and childcare companies in the United States. While our original founders have since retired (and their daughter is now an adult with children of her own), we are proud to continue this important legacy. Today we operate more than 100 schools in 9 states, employing 2,500 professional educators and caregivers, and serving more than 12,000 children each day.
