Committees
ECEC Committees play a key role in ensuring ECEC’s work reflects the real-world experiences of providers serving children and families across the country.
Committees bring members together to share insights, shape policy priorities, and advance solutions that strengthen the child care sector. Through these working groups, providers collaborate with peers, contribute expertise from the field, and help guide ECEC’s advocacy, research, and member initiatives.
Government Relations Committee
The Government Relations Committee brings together policy professionals from member companies to share insights on federal and state policy developments and collaborate and align on advocacy strategies.
Safety Council
The Safety Council gathers members’ health, safety, compliance and legal staff to review emerging regulations and policy changes. It also provides a forum for sharing best practices in response to such changes that help ensure children’s health and safety across all member programs.
Insurance Work Group
The Insurance Work Group convenes ECEC member company representatives to discuss insurance challenges affecting the child care industry. It works to identify potential state- and national-level solutions and share strategies that help members navigate rising costs and regulatory complexity.
Franchise Work Group
The Franchise Work Group provides space for franchise‑model providers to share best practices and common challenges and coordinate responses to franchise‑specific issues. It also ensures franchise members can align with ECEC’s broader advocacy and operational priorities.
State Work Groups
State Work Groups meet regularly to review state‑specific legislative, regulatory and administrative developments that affect providers, families, and the child care sector more broadly. They help coordinate strategy across priority states and ensure members receive timely information and opportunities to shape state policy.
Excellence in Early Learning Working Group
This working group brings together chief academic officers and curriculum leaders to discuss policies that aim to strengthen educational quality, curriculum and academic standards across providers. The group engages leading experts, shares insights across providers, builds consensus on core principles and develops ECEC standards for high-quality early education.
